When the Range-Rover L322 was originally brought out, Land-Rover said the gearbox was sealed for life, but have now revised there statement and now offer the filer kit for L322 models, as part of their range.

It's a worthwhile and fairly simple job to change the Automatic Gear Filter Kit. A blocked filer will reduce the oil flow and cause, at first minor problems. Keeping the filters and fluid clear will give the gearbox an extended life and there is no reason why an auto box will not last the life of the vehicle and longer, if the fluids are looked after in terms of keeping them clean and filtered, as the Autoboxes work on valves and pressure and dirt can cause all sorts of problems.
